Image by ~jjjohn~ via FlickrWe have just learned from Representative Cecil Brown, chair of our state legislature's education committee, that HB 25 is dead. Assuming that Rep. Brown's word on the matter is sufficient, I think we can all breathe a sign of relief. There will be future anti-evolution efforts in our state, but we have demonstrated that we can mount significant opposition quickly. This is encouraging, and thanks are in order to all those who wrote letter to their representatives, newspapers, etc. This type of activism can be time consuming, but it is refreshing to see it work even in a state like ours.
