Mississippi Rep. Nunnelee Does Not Support Church-State Separation
You may have heard something about the religious right being up in arms over a recent decision by the Department of Defense to stop the practice of publishing official editions of the Christian bible for each branch of the military. Here is our own Rep. Alan Nunnelee (R-MS) addressing this decision and characterizing it as "another example of government assault on religion."
Initially, I wrote that he does not appear to understand separation of church and state at all. But after additional consideration, I'm not sure that is accurate. I think it is far more likely that he understands it and rejects it in favor of Christian theocracy.
