Cottonmouth is reporting that Gov. Phil Bryant (R-MS) has a nativity scene in the front yard of the governor's mansion and has a picture so you can see it for yourselves. Since the governor's mansion is publicly-owned, it seems to me that this is yet another violation of church-state separation here in Mississippi. I wonder if any groups have approached Gov. Bryant about adding a secular holiday display to his nativity scene? If not, this might be an effective way to get the nativity scene removed.
For anyone having trouble understanding why atheists might care about nativity scenes on public property, I refer you to this post from 2010.
