They cite the obscure Turkish newspaper that has an article about folks slaughtering sheep in celebration of Obama's win, and they also cite a news article with the headline, "Obama, president of the world?" that oddly enough appeared on faux news.

These are folks with college degrees! You'd think they'd be a little less gullible.Angelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18406566117916268812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730010905668737133.post-11617075490421091792008-08-18T22:27:00.000-05:002008-08-18T22:27:00.000-05:00That's what's so scary about religion! Intelligent, educated, otherwise reasonable people fall down some sort of weird rabbit hole when logic collides with theology.

I have a cousin-in-law, a registered nurse, very knowledgable about many things, who gets all emotional whenever the subject of cremation comes up. "But the Bobble says the Lord will raise us up in our bodies -- how can he raise me up in my body if it's all burned and scattered all over?"

Another interesting thing I've noticed about uber-religios is how often they reduce God to a helpless role. In the example above, she sees God being incapable of reconstructing someone he allegedly created from ashes and dust. I've heard other people defend curtailment of civil liberties (such as gay marriage), saying "It will hurt God." But -- but -- if you can "hurt God," why, that's like Kryptonite to Superman. This all-powerful invulnerable Supreme Being can be hurt? If I were putting all my trust in such an easily hurt Being, I'd think twice.

Glad I already did.Vollyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14514280952695776270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730010905668737133.post-69888397652453586172008-08-18T01:27:00.000-05:002008-08-18T01:27:00.000-05:00If Obama is the anti-Christ, it will be the first ...If Obama is the anti-Christ, it will be the first evidence of super-natural forces that Christians have provided yet.
